Project brief as given

Take a photograph portrait of one of your fellow students. The main points for consideration should be the:

  1. Lighting. eg. high key, low key, mid key, one & two point lighting
  2. Viewpoint. eg. high, low, neutral

Consider the character of the person you choose; try and convey something of their personal qualities in the photograph. For example if they are happy or extrovert, this is the expression you should aim for.

Description of solution

I chose a friend who (I think) was studying fine art in the year above me. He was a thoughtful, contemplative character, so I sought to capture this mood in the portrait. I also developed the photography (a dying art in the digital age!)
